I’ve been watching the first cycle of Philippines’ Next Top Model, hosted by Ruffa Gutierrez on RPN, and last night was the season finale.

The final two contestants standing were Grendel Alvarado and Rina Lorilla.

I’ve been rooting for Rina Lorilla because I’ve known her from TV shows like Single on ABC-5 and Close-Up to Fame on ABS-CBN.

this is the photoshoot for the "breast cancer awareness" where Rina wowed the judges with her penetrating eyes ultimately sending the message of the shoot.

In an anti-climactic second-to-last episode a week ago, Rina thought she had already won. However, to everyone’s surprise, there was a no-bearing photoshoot challenge, and both girls returned to Manila to showcase their talents at the final Runway Show. Grendel received praise for her fierce catwalk, while Rina’s bubbly personality shone through.

Unfortunately, Rina made a critical mistake by waving at her friends who were watching her on the runway. This gesture made the judges question her seriousness about modeling.

In the end, Grendel Alvarado was crowned the first-ever Philippines’ Next Top Model.
