House of Gucci is an upcoming biographical crime drama film directed by Ridley Scott, based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden. The film stars Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino.
Filming for House of Gucci took place from February to May of 2021 in various parts of Italy. Its world premiere will take place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles[1] and is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 24, 2021, by United Artists Releasing.
Jessica Chastain for The Eyes of Tammy Faye
The Eyes of Tammy Faye is a 2021 American biographical drama film directed by Michael Showalter and written by Abe Sylvia, and based on the 2000 documentary of the same name by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. The film depicts the history of controversial televangelists Tammy Faye Bakker and Jim Bakker, as portrayed by Jessica Chastain (who also produces the film) and Andrew Garfield. Cherry Jones and Vincent D'Onofrio also star.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye had its world premiere at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2021, and was released in the United States on September 17, 2021, by Searchlight Pictures. The film received mixed reviews from critics although Chastain's performance was widely praised.

Respect is a 2021 American biographical musical drama film directed by Liesl Tommy (in her feature directorial debut), written by Tracey Scott Wilson, Callie Khouri, and is based on the life of American singer Aretha Franklin. The film stars Jennifer Hudson as Franklin. Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, and Mary J. Blige are featured in supporting roles. The film follows the first two decades of Franklin's life, from being born as a musical prodigy in an affluent African-American family, the effect of losing her mother at age 10 to her arduous rise to international musical stardom, while simultaneously enduring an abusive marriage and constraints of patriarchy, ultimately concluding with the recording of her influential live album Amazing Grace (1971).

Being the Ricardos is an upcoming American biographical drama film written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, about the relationship between I Love Lucy stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. CODA is a 2021 coming-of-age comedy-drama film that follows a hearing teenage girl who is a child of deaf adults (CODA for short). Written and directed by Sian Heder, the film stars Emilia Jones as the hearing girl, with Marlee Matlin and Troy Kotsur as her culturally Deaf parents and Daniel Durant as her deaf brother. Eugenio Derbez and Ferdia Walsh-Peelo also star in the film.
Jodie Comer for The Last Duel
The Last Duel is a 2021 epic historical drama film directed and produced by Ridley Scott. It is based on the 2004 book of the same name by Eric Jager, with a screenplay by Nicole Holofcener, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon. Set in medieval France, the film stars Damon as Jean de Carrouges, a knight who challenges his friend and squire Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) to a duel after Carrouges's wife, Marguerite (Jodie Comer), accuses Le Gris of raping her; Affleck also stars in a supporting role as Count Pierre d'Alençon.

Big congratulations, Leonardo DiCaprio, for finally bagging the Oscar! At long last! I’m so, so happy for Leo!!! I’ve loved him since Marvin’s Room, and every movie in between was always a treat watching Leo grow and finally, tonight – winning his very first Oscar!!!! Here’s what Leo has to say during Oscar’s acceptance speech:
“Thank you all so very much.
Thank you to the Academy, thank you to all of you in this room. I have to
congratulate the other incredible nominees this year. 'The Revenant’ was the
product of the tireless efforts of an unbelievable cast and crew. First off, to

Since it's Valentine's Day, I thought of posting this bittersweet e-mail sent by Julia Roberts' character (Liz) to David (played by James Franco) when she went to Italy. I know the book was based on the author's experiences, but I reckon this letter will apply to those who have no dates today LOL.
Dear David,
We haven’t had any communication in a while, and it’s given me
time I needed to think. Remember when you said we should live with each other
and be unhappy so we could be happy? Consider it a testimony to how much I love
you that I spent so long pouring myself into that offer, trying to make it
work. But a friend took me to the most amazing place the other day it’s called,
The Augustium. Octavian Augustus built it to house his remains. When the
Barbarians came they trashed it along with everything else. The Great Augustus
Rome’s first true great emperor. How could he have imagined that Rome, the
whole world as far as he was concerned, one day would be in ruins. It’s one of
the quietest and loneliest places in Rome. The city has grown up around it over
centuries. Feels like a precious wound, Like a heartbreak you won’t let go of
cause it hurts too good. We all want things to stay the same David. Settle for
living in misery because we’re afraid of change, of things crumbling to ruins.
Then I looked around in this place at the chaos it’s endured. The way it’s been
adapted, burned, pillaged, and found a way to build itself back up again…and i
was reassured. Maybe my life hasn’t been so chaotic, It’s just the world that
is. And the only real trap is getting attached to any of it. ruin is a gift.
Ruin is the road to transformation. Even in this eternal city. The Augustium
showed me that we must always be prepared for endless waves of transformation.
Both of us deserve better than staying together because we’re
afraid we’ll be destroyed if we don’t.
Tonight is the
biggest night in Hollywood as stars converge in Kodak Theater for the 85th
Academy Awards. Last year was a very good year in films and the battle for tonight
would validate the selected few who will get to win the Oscars and have their
name written in the Oscar history book. With that being said, the competition
is as stiff as last year when Meryl Streep and Viola Davis battled it out for
the Best Actress category with the former winning her third statuette.
As for this year,
like what I’ve been doing for the last couple of years – I’d be presenting my predictions
/ thoughts in certain categories with the THINK and WANT
format or Think / Want / Should Win format
or Winner / Spoiler blah blah.

THINK / WANT /
SHOULD - Argo is arguably the one to beat tonight with its unprecedented
accolades left and right. The Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild and the BAFTA
hailed it as their Best Picture and I cannot imagine the Academy not following
through and not recognizing the film despite the controversial snub of its
director Ben Affleck.
SPOILER: If the
Academy will snub this film just to be different, the award may go to Lincoln or Life Of Pi.

With Ben Affleck
getting no love from the Academy, I’ve this feeling that the Oscar will go to
either Steven Spielberg or Ang Lee – both are previous winners. With this, I
think it’ll be Steven Spielberg simply because I kinda think that (on a
personal level) Spielberg’s direction was much better than the Life Of Pi of
Ang Lee.

Day Lewis is one of the favorites of the Academy having won two Oscars already.
With his beyond impressive portrayal of Abe Lincoln, DDL could easily walk away
with his third win – a well deserved win at that.

Now this is one of
the most awaited categories of the night. Everybody thought Jennifer Lawrence
had this already in the bag until Emmanuelle Riva’s name pops in and even
snatching the BAFTA from JLaw. This could be a very interesting upset if the
Silver Linings Playbook actress will go home empty handed after tonight.
THINK:
Jennifer Lawrence – given the that American voters dominates the Academy, I
should think that JLaw will get this.
WANT
and SHOULD /SPOILER:
Emmanuelle Riva – her moving portrayal in Amour is beyond. This is her first
nomination and was touted to be the oldest to get the nod for this category.
Not for sentimental reason because Miss Riva’s 86 but because I believe that
she actually deserved it more than Jennifer.

Supporting Actress (LOCKED)
No one – as in no
one can beat Anne Hathaway tonight. Her portrayal of the ever so distraught
Fantine in Les Misérables is
perfection. The dynamic of her emotions as she sings the theme of the song has
sealed her Oscar destiny. It’ll be such a shocker if Sally Field would snatch
this one from her.
Best Supporting Actor
You cannot go wrong with Christoph
Waltz when it comes to being cynical and all and Tommy Lee Jones have proven
her worth a long time ago. I should think that it’s only between them and I’m
betting towards Waltz winning this. Atleast I think the Academy have voted for
him
