I just discovered this uber-cool free-online texting website to any network in the Philippines. You do not have to register or do anything so complicated to do it. So if you do not have a cell phone load (given that, you’re on prepaid) or you run out of battery and is unable to text but you have your computer and internet on, then you can still text from this website – absolutely for free!
It's very simple to create an SMS from the website. Fill out the nickname tab, the number of the recipient, composed your message (100 characters limit - not bad), type the captcha and voila! Send 'em text to anyone!
Based on the website's ABOUT page - magTXT.com is a free PC to Mobile text service that allows Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad to have seamless conversations with their loved ones in the Philippines. (sounds good to me!) I am thinking that maybe they get their earnings thru their ads - I wish we could help repay the developers by clicking their ads :)
